Inspired by our vibrant local landscapes, flora, and fauna—both above and below the waterline—you'll get to design a stunning, textured artwork - this can be aligned with the Art Quest theme, "Exmouth Chronicles (more details available).


What to Expect

Day 1: Sculpt & Texture (4 Hours)

• Carve and stamp raw air-drying clay

• Use provided natural materials like shells, leaves etc., to press rich, tactile patterns into your relief design


Day 2: Paint & Perfect (2 Hours)

• Bring colour onto your dried clay art piece

• Finish your artwork as a beautifully framed or hanging display (ready for ArtQuest exhibition entry if desired)


What to Bring

• Personal treasures:

You are highly encouraged to bring unique items to press or string into your artwork. Great options include leaves, feathers, stones, twigs, etc.

• Your tech:

Consider bringing a phone or tablet to look up reference images and spark design inspiration.

A ONE DAY WORKSHOP

From reef to sky, discover the colourful characters of Ningaloo in this acrylic painting workshop.


Create a portrait inspired by the region's fish and birdlife.

Using acrylic paints, you'll learn simple techniques to bring your chosen feathers or scales to life while celebrating the incredible biodiversity and characters of Exmouth.

Perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike.

...also in time to create an entry for *ArtQuest!

What You'll Need

Participants will create an artwork using an 11" × 14" frame with an 8" × 10" image. All paper will be professionally prepared and stretched onto a sturdy cardboard backing, ready to paint.

A selection of reference images will be provided to inspire your artwork. Acrylic paints will be used throughout the workshop, along with a variety of fine detail brushes and flat/chisel brushes to help achieve different painting techniques.

Everything you need to complete your painting will be available during the workshop, so simply come along ready to create and enjoy the experience.

Your finished artwork will also include a frame to take and use for display (once dried!)

Learning how to use a Sewing Machine for beginners, a refresher for previous participants and the introduction learning to make and create other items.

(THESE SESSIONS are a continuation of the Basic Sewing Machines Skills carried out in June 2025)

 

  • Each session will cover Basic Sewing Machine use and care

  • No experience needed

  • Practice pieces will be used to make items for practical use

  • There will be choices of fabrics, notions and threads - all materials and equipment are supplied (extra items are available for purchase (fabric, threads, etc.)

  • No experience needed

  • Practice pieces will be used to make items for practical use

  • There will be choices of fabrics, notions and threads - all materials and equipment are supplied (extra items are available for purchase (fabric, threads, etc.)

  • Light supper is provided

  • Ages 16 years+ and limited to 6 adult spaces per session

Create a Festive Door Wreath Decoration, either as an individual or joint/family group.

Materials are provided, but if you have any sparkly things, items of a particular colour, or other treasures you want to include, bring them along.

This workshop can be attended as an individual or family group, ages 6 and upward

(Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult)


NOTE: Cost is $25 per wreath created, NOT by number of participants.
